Pennsylvania’s Life Sciences Greenhouses Initiative

Economic Growth and Innovative Medical Product Development via Direct Investments

Who We Are

In 2001, Pennsylvania made a strong commitment to the biosciences by allocating up to $1.6 billion from the Master Tobacco Settlement to support research, encourage early stage funding, and enhance venture funding.

Out of this amount, $100M was allocated to three regionally based evergreen funds collectively known as the Life Science Greenhouses (LSGs)
